This is a one family, two owner California car that has been well kept. The original owner pre ordered the car back in 1970 through a third party who was in charge of communicating with Porsche and shipping the car to the states. The car was originally optioned with: a five speed 901 transmission, Koni shock absorbers, 6x15 wheels, stabiliser bars, front bumper without guards, chrome strips on the fenders, left antenna, comfort equipment, tinted glass all around, leatherette interior and color code is 2424 which is Burgundy Red.
The original owner kept very good care of the car and owned it for many years. Toward the end of his ownership he decided to do some restoration work including a repaint in the original color burgundy, as well as rebuild the engine and transmission. The interior was kept original because it was in such great shape to start out with. A few years later in 1998 he decided to sell it to his cousin who had been interested in the car for many years. His cousin babied the car and only ever drove it to shows in the area. After a few years of owning it the car was parked in a garage, where it then sat for the last 10 years.
Since being at Makellos Classics, our technicians have gotten this car started and running properly. Our team has rebuilt the carburetors, replaced all necessary fuel and oil lines, replaced the shock absorbers with Koni shocks all around, replaced sway bar bushings, installed a new battery and also replaced the tires. The car runs and drives excellent and is ready for its new owner.
